The Norfolk Makers Festival is a celebration of creativity for everyone, from the curious beginner to the expert enthusiast. The programme ranges from wood carving to weaving, from sewing to sculpting, from quilting to digital art. Most events are held at The Forum, in Norwich. It's free to enter and full of free opportunities to have a go and get hands on.
The theme for 2024's juried textile art exhibition is Under the Surface. Submissions of new and original work are welcome from textile artists - both amateur and professional - living in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The selected work will be exhibited at the Norfolk Makers Festival, in April 2024.
Creative activity and linking up with people and projects in your community can help reduce the risk of developing dementia. We're working with groups in the Norwich area, exploring healthy life choices and creating new artwork for the 2024 Festival.
The epic tale of a charity knitter who has delighted two Queens, one princess, and many celebrities, including Darcy Bussell, Grayson Perry and even Rod Stewart! She's raised over £100,000 for charity. And she is still knitting!
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Norfolk Makers Festival in March 2023, and to the many thousands who visited. We've taken a look back at the people involved and what we all achieved.
