Use green and seasoned woods to explore nature's materials.

Natural wood working is the first love of Fay Jones, The Woodland Haberdasher, and she'd like to share it with you.

Make your own butter knife or pendant and get hands on with materials, tools and processes. You'll gain an understanding of the differences between green and seasoned wood.

This is not a free activity suitable for children but they'll certainly enjoy watching the grown ups at work.

16+ if tools being used.

Fay is taking part in the Strumpshaw Tree Fair Taster outside The Forum.

Carved wooden knife

Fay Jones specializes in using all the little odds and ends that she finds whilst out walking, as well as materials offered to her like wood and sheep fleece. She is primarily a wood carver and natural dyer but, she says, a Woodland Haberdasher dabbles in all things!'

While all safety measures will be taken and advice given, you participate in free activities and workshops at your own risk.
