The organisers of the summer Strumpshaw Tree Fair are bringing wood carvers, tool makers and other artisans to this year's Norfolk Makers Festival.

They'll be demonstrating rural crafts on the first weekend of the Festival, outside The Forum.

That's Sat 11 and Sun 12 March, from 10am.

Watch demonstrations by a chain saw carver (no, you can't have a go!), a whittler, a willow weaver and other makers, as they work with natural materials and recycled items.

The Strumpshaw Tree Fair, 15-16 July, is a 'celebration of wood crafters, artisans and very talented people!'

Candy Sheridan, the organiser, started the fair eight years ago. She says,

"We reflect the rural economy of Norfolk, the people who make a living from old traditional crafts, like basket making, cooper, a maker of barrels, forge workers and hurdle makers.

This is blended in with upcycling, bygone tools, vintage clothes, with live traditional music and old fashioned dance displays."

The Strumpshaw Tree Fair is held at the Strumpshaw Steam Museum and Park, Old Hall Road, Norwich NR13 4HR, and is a delightful way to spend a summer weekend.
