A morning workshop for complete beginners.

Ruth, The Slow Yarn Spinner, will show you how to use a drop spindle, so you can make your own yarns for knitting, crochet and weaving.

A drop spindle is the most simple, and ancient, of tools. Ruth will show you how to hold the spindle, and how twist works to strengthen wool fibres.

You will use two types of wool fibres to compare their qualities as you spin, and then ply one thread with another into a finished yarn.

Everyone will go away with their first sample of hand spun yarn.

No experience is needed and all materials and tools are provided.

£25

Age 16+

Kits will be available to purchase on the day if you want to take a spindle home with you.
