The Slow Yarn Spinner processes fibre the old fashioned way.

Ruth, The Slow Yarn Spinner, will be at the Festival for three days, surrounded by fleece ready for carding, rolags ready for spinning, yarns ready for plying.

She'll have an e-spinner, a spinning wheel and drop spindles for you to try your hand. And Ruth will be only too happy to have conversations about your own textile passions and projects.

Drop by, whether you have tried these skills before or not. All are welcome.

Ruth is also holding a morning workshop for those who would like to learn to use a drop spindle. See below.

Ruth is passionate about textiles and the health benefits to be had from mindful, creative activity. You can read more of her story on her website.
