Recreating medieval tapestries and costumes.

This summer the Norwich Castle Keep Project comes to fruition, and for the first time in 900 years visitors will be able to explore all five floors of the city's famous Castle, from basements to battlements.

The multi-million pound project has recreated 'a palace of Norman kings' complete with sumptuous furnishings and wall hangings fit for royalty.

These textiles have been stitched and embroidered by a dedicated group of volunteers, who have worked for several years to tell the stories of East Anglia in the 12th century.

Meet some of the volunteers and view examples of the work that will soon adorn the new Norwich Castle Keep.

Try your stitching hand at the Bayeux stitch on a sampler and learn more about one of the largest heritage projects going on in the UK.

You may also enjoy a special Festival talk called Tales from the Castle Keep. See below.
