Horning

Burnt Fen Alpacas, near Horning on the Norfolk Broads, is run by Ann Nickerson, an alpaca breeder and a keen spinner, weaver, felter and all round yarn and textile enthusiast.

Ann is a regular at the Makers’ Festival (formerly Makers’ Month) and has devised several events such as the Shirt to Yurt project.

She also brings her alpacas to the Festival and you can meet her and her animals at The Forum on Sat 16 Feb.

As part of the Norfolk Makers’ Festival fringe, Ann is hosting some workshops at Burnt Fen Alpacas.

One day workshops to learn the technique Nuno Felting and create your own unique alpaca & silk scarf are being held on Tue 12 and Mon 18 Feb.

Nuno felting is a technique that allows you to fuse fibres into a loose weave fabric to create a new bonded material, in this case, alpaca and silk chiffon.

All the materials and equipment you need to make your scarf are provided.
