Picking up the Threads

This exhibition is in the past.

Walk into The Forum’s Gallery, on the ground floor of The Forum, to enjoy the Picking Up The Threads exhibition.

Explore a diverse display of work submitted by both amateur and professional textile artists from across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

In spring 2019 the Norfolk Makers’ Festival put out a call to artists, requesting submissions of new and original textile art, responding to the theme ‘picking up the threads’.

All genres were welcome, including weaving, spinning, knitting, crocheting, quilting, embroidery, lacemaking and patchwork. The call was open to both amateurs and professionals, and to all age groups, to encourage those who would not normally submit their work for formal exhibitions.

The submissions were judged by a panel, headed by textile artist and expert quilter, Annette Morgan, and the result is a diverse and colourful exhibition which, we hope will both delight and inspire.

The Picking up the Threads exhibition is open from 10am – 4pm each day of the Festival and is free to enter. Many of the pieces are for sale.
