Optimistic stitching by textile artists isolated during lockdown.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, says one of the pieces created by a member of TOPstitch during the darkest days of national lockdown.

TOPstitch is comprised of traditional, contemporary and experimental textile artists from Norfolk who use hand and machine embroidery and mixed media.

Their work on show at the Norfolk Makers Festival Showcase reflects personal experiences of the past year.

Also, at a time when it wasn't possible to visit the coast, TOPstich members created embroideries reflecting the flora and fauna of the Norfolk chalk reef off Cromer.

Like so many community based creative groups, the members inspired each other with joint projects and online contact.

Membership of TOPstitch is by invitation.
