This is an embroidery workshop for anyone interested in hand stitching, whatever your level of ability and experience.
Tutor Ruth Holmes will show you how to build a background surface out of recycled fabric and then, using line drawn flowers, create a picture using applique. This will then be hand stitched to attach and embelish.
The idea is that everyone who takes part in this workshop goes home with a piece of work they can complete or add to their piece stitching.
Participants should bring a simple sewing kit and scissors. All other materials will be supplied. However, you might like to bring treasured scraps and favourite threads.
Also, feel free to bring details of embroidery stitches you would like to try.
Time: 10am – 12.30pm
Minimum Age: 12 (under 16s accompanied by a paying adult)
To book: Lesley Jones at email@example.com
Also, if you’re feeling a bit more ambitious, take a look at the Mountmellick Embroidery workshop on Tue 19 Feb.
