Four friends who stitched family wishes during lockdown.

Enjoy the work of Threadheads - Beverley, Frances, Leslie and Mary - four people who have come together to share their love of stitching.

Their trees of textile 'baubles', on display in The Forum's Atrium, illustrate their ethos of not buying new materials but getting creative with what they have in 'the stash'!

The Threadheads' creative journey started four years ago.

Frances has completed Textiles 1 and 2 with the Open College of the Arts and Level 2 C&G in  Creative Embroidery. Mary and Beverley C&G (2) in Creative Machine Embroidery all with either “Distant Stitch” or the Embroiderers’ Guild. Leslie has C&G certification in Silk Painting and over the years done various modules in Advanced Textiles through the Adult Education Service.

They love exploring ideas together and have missed their regular meetings which have been replaced by 'zooming'.

During lockdown they set themselves challenges. One was to make baubles in the hope they could be with their families at Christmas.
