Mountmellick Embroidery is encompassed within the broad term ‘whitework’ embroidery and is a type of Irish embroidery developed in the early 19th century.
The stitching gives a bold design but consists of a few basic stitches used in a variety of techniques in white thread on a white background.
Participants will join tutors Dilys Harvey and Sue Leonard to make a completed sample suitable for insertion into a greetings card.
Main materials will be supplied but participants should bring a basic sewing kit of scissors, needles and a 6 to 8 inch embroidery hoop.
Time: 10am – 12.30pm
Minimum Age: 12 (under 16s accompanied by a paying adult)
