Homage to the Granny Square

This event has already taken place.

Anyone with basic crochet skills can join in the Homage to the Granny Square project. Beautiful yarns, simple crochet patterns and technical support will be provided.

All the crochet squares completed will be made into a finished blanket and raffled for charity at the end of the Festival.

Homage to the Granny Square is a project developed by Sue Maton, of The Mercerie.

She takes her inspiration from the work of the modernist painter and colour theorist, Joseph Albers, and the traditions of communities united by craft.

Several finished blankets are currently on display at Norfolk Yarn, on Pottergate in Norwich and will be displayed at The Forum throughout the Festival, providing colourful inspiration!

Sue is giving a free talk at the Festival on Wed 20 Feb
