The Friends of St Andrew's Church, in Little Massingham, want to give their place of worship a big hug. It's been the victim of lead thieves and many thousands of pounds are need to repair the roof.
The church community has partnered with the charity, Quilts for Care Leavers, and they've come up with a bold plan that will highlight St Andrew's plight and give young people leaving care a bit of much needed support.
This is your chance to contribute to a giant, patchwork quilt which will be wrapped around the church in May 2024 and, the community hopes, prompt people to donate to the repair funds.
Once the quilted hug has worked its magic, the mammoth textile will be divided up to create individual quilts for young adults who are leaving care.
Quilts for Care Leavers is a charity which provides 'quilted hugs' to care leavers aged 16-25, who are living independently after their time in the local authority care system.
You can sponsor a square of the 'Giant Hug' by going to the St Andrew's Church website. See below.
While all safety measures will be taken and advice given, you participate in free activities and workshops at your own risk.
