Norfolk's celebration of creativity is back, from Sat 13 to Sun 21 April, at The Forum, Norwich. Each day is different, with free tasters and exhibitions from 10am to 4pm, plus workshops and talks. There's something for everyone!

Heritage and Treasures

The agony of corsets, the history of spinning, Korean royal dress and weaving icons. An anniversary exhibition in The Gallery, plus talks and films, from the Costume and Textile Association.

Paint, Draw, Print

From watercolours, lino cut printing and virtual reality drawing, to paper rolling, cartooning, fantasy map-making, and crafting with shells and mud! Free 'have-a-gos' and workshops for all ages, interests and abilities.

Self Portraits: Life Goals

Creative activity and linking up with people in your community can help reduce the risk of developing dementia. Read about the artwork created over a year long project. It's all on show at this year's Festival!

Margaret: The Complete Collection

All Margaret's astonishing installations in a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition in the Lower Gallery. Meet the knitter who delighted two Queens, one princess, Darcy Bussell, Grayson Perry and Rod Stewart!

Celebrate Local Talent

The theme for 2024's juried textile art exhibition is Under the Surface, featuring work from textile artists, both amateur and professional, living in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambs. A wonderfully eclectic and imaginative show of local talent.

About the Festival

The Norfolk Makers Festival is a celebration of creativity for everyone, from the curious beginner to the expert enthusiast. From wood carving to weaving, from sewing to sculpting, from quilting to digital art. It's free to enter and full of opportunities to have a go and get hands on.

What's in store for Makers 2024?

It's hard to pick out just a few highlights from this year's programme. But here are a few.

From Norfolk's Queen of Knitting and her complete collection, stunning costumes and garments of the past, glorious examples of craftivism, plus a chance for all ages and abilities to have a go at something new. For free!
